Self-exclusion

Rhode Island Lottery operates a voluntary self-exclusion program. If you sign up, you are barred from placing wagers at Bally’s Twin River, Bally’s Tiverton, and the Sportsbook RI mobile app for a defined period (typically 1 year, 5 years, or lifetime). Any winnings placed during the exclusion period are forfeited.

To self-exclude, contact the Rhode Island Lottery directly or visit either Bally’s casino in person.

Deposit limits & cool-offs

The Sportsbook RI app supports several built-in responsible gambling tools:

  • Deposit limits — daily, weekly, or monthly caps on how much you can fund
  • Wager limits — caps on bet size or total stake
  • Time limits — caps on session length
  • Cool-off periods — temporary self-blocks (24 hours to 6 months)
  • Account closure — full closure on request

You can set or adjust these in the app under Account → Responsible Gaming.

Warning signs

Common signs that gambling has become a problem:

  • Betting more than you intended or can afford
  • Chasing losses with bigger bets
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you bet
  • Borrowing money to gamble
  • Feeling restless or irritable when not betting
  • Missing work, school, or commitments to bet
  • Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, or depression

If any of these resonate, please reach out to one of the helplines above. Treatment works, and it is covered by most insurance plans.

Help for family members

If you are concerned about someone else’s gambling, both 1-800-GAMBLER and the RI Council on Problem Gambling offer support specifically for family members and friends. You do not need to be the gambler to call.

Legal age reminder

You must be 18 or older to wager at Bally’s Twin River or Bally’s Tiverton in person, and 21 or older to use the Sportsbook RI mobile app. Underage gambling is illegal in Rhode Island and any winnings will be voided.
