About the property
Bally’s Tiverton Casino Hotel opened in September 2018, just months before retail sports betting launched in Rhode Island. It is the smaller of the two Bally’s casinos in the state but offers a full hotel attached to the gaming floor. The property sits roughly 15 miles east of Newport and just minutes from the Massachusetts state line.
The sportsbook
Tiverton’s Sportsbook RI lounge mirrors the Twin River Lincoln offering on a smaller scale. You’ll find:
- Cash betting kiosks and staffed windows
- Live odds boards and game broadcasts
- The full Sportsbook RI menu (moneylines, spreads, totals, parlays, props, futures, live betting)
- Cash-out windows for winning tickets
All bets are settled by the same backend operator (RI Lottery + IGT), so lines and rules are identical to Twin River and the mobile app.
Why Tiverton matters
Tiverton’s location on the MA border was strategic. When it opened in 2018, Massachusetts had not yet legalized sports betting (that came in 2023), so Bally’s pulled cross-border traffic from southeastern Massachusetts. With Mass now offering seven licensed operators, Tiverton’s competitive moat has narrowed — one of the reasons Rhode Island is moving toward market expansion in 2026.
Age & ID
Retail sports betting at Tiverton requires you to be 18 or older. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Mobile betting through the Sportsbook RI app requires 21+ — see the operator overview for app details.
Hotel & amenities
Unlike Twin River Lincoln, Tiverton offers an attached hotel, making it the only RI sportsbook with overnight accommodations on-site. The property includes restaurants, a casino floor with table games and slots, and event space.
